To Varsity! Oh long awaited time To study literature and rhyme A time to learn to make words flow And say to Life a big Hello. Life’s cup is full up to the brim And I’ve dived in for a practice swim. I’ll splash about and drift along And sing youth’s vibrant song. The men are always very kind Until I find what’s on their mind. I know I will have many scrapes As well as making great escapes. I found that men are easy to impress When I am in my tightest dress. With waist so slim, and lots of skin My eyes will flirt and hearts will win. I know the men will make a pass When I attend the English Class There are so many from which to choose I’ll love them all, I will not lose. But there’s one chap that I adore I wish he’d look my way some more. I glanced at him, my heart went Wow! If he’s available I’ll take him now. I soon found out he was not free I thought it such a crying shame That he’d been caught by some other dame. Her time with him did not last. I sorted her lightning fast Lawrence, you wrote about a bat and a snake But did you know that Love could make your body tremble And your mind disassemble Until it is without reason Knowing only that Love is the Season. Lawrence, I cannot choose you before Love For Love is a gift from the Creator above. It brings to my body a feeling so rare That your writings simply cannot compare. Oh My First Love! Every moment apart Seemed like an eternity Weighing heavy on my heart. The world belonged to You and Me Our love had the brightness And intensity to make our desires explode Into a millions of pieces of heat That would not be cooled until our bodies meet. Yes. To meet in the stillness of the night When day has gone, and all is quiet. To touch each other with a soft caress Words cannot describe the tenderness Those days were like a dream. A dreamy world of Happiness That I have lived and seen. Oh! do not take away my dream. Let me go back to yesterday. May I leave the world in which I live And return to where love was mine to give. Those heady days were filled with fun As we danced youth’s tune in the sun. It seems another lifetime away When I was young, and life was play. Oh! Those days were magic. Why is Life so tragic That Happiness must end, And Fate will always send Us to another Act in another Play Until Death takes our life away. Although life has changed, and youth has gone Those memories still linger on. Of all life’s vintages that I have pressed There is no doubt my youth was best.
