Poem
Built by the criminally insane An evil man with a gifted brain Crafted a hero built to end all When the others have fallen, he still stands tall A humanoid robot, a Reploid they're called The originally designed's release date was stalled For fear the long established rules would break Could a self-choosing robot have what it takes? Their fears were for naught, X knew what was right A hero at heart, for justice he would fight And alongside him all the way, his best friend he knows A villain turned heroic, a Reploid named Zero For years on years they fought the forces of crime Maverick Reploids were the source every time Led by a once great leader gone bad His name was Sigma, once sane, now gone mad Throughout the long wars, strange dreams plagued Zero And several went on to question the origins of this hero Dreams of a man so very insane Imprinted into what would be Zero's brain Then calamity struck in the form of disease Bringing the people of the world to their knees It made Reploids Mavericks, few kept their heads But without a form of cure, soon all would be dead Even the mighty X suffered at its hands Powerless to help while it ravage the land But one kept his mind and even grew strong From its dastardly effects, incubated so long The already mad Sigma grew even less stable Soon only X and Zero would be able To save the world from his outstretched hand The only two who could possibly make a stand Soon Zero was infected, but he wasn't made weak It made him even stronger, who knows when he'd peak But the nightmares became worse and soon Sigma would attack The final assault on a dying Earth, humanity would not last The virus corrupted Zero, the power was too great And on he fought against X, there was no avoiding that fate But X showed him the light and stepped back on the path Only Sigma remained, and great was his wrath The final blow was struck but the repercussions were great Zero went missing, presumed dead was his fate X vowed to fight in the late hero's name But though he had vanished, Zero hadn't given up the game
