Poem
My troll brought home his ladylove, from the tropics the other day. Where have all my flowers gone? I began to ask as she came to stay. Before then, my yard was beautiful and with a bountiful bouquet. But my basement troll has found true love, as his mind doth go astray. He has become a Whimsy Troll now, with sonnets on his mind arrayed. Beauteous thoughts with poetic whimsy have put him on a cloud to stay. His mind goes to poetic heights, then back to harvest my gardens bounty. Until now, I had never realized how short a flower’s life could truly be. Until he put them in the hands of his beloved volcano demon, you see. One little touch of romantic love and poof they go up in smoke! Dear oh Dear is all I can say! This can’t go on much more, I croaked! Then with a sudden insight, I had a load of coal dumped at my door. Diamonds are made by Volcano Demons with minerals from volcano cores. So I ask her to form crystalline blossoms, in shapes like in my garden yard. I told the troll what she truly wanted was not flowers but inspiration, you see. And naturally a Whimsy Troll has all that she could ever possibly need. Flowers now made from diamonds, became totally structured from one piece. And people came from the world over, for what she could present, to see. Now Cartier is coming over and knocking enthusiastically at her door. And she has bought more minerals to do the same with other jewels galore. At least I now won’t have to worry about how my garden is going to survive. And the new Whimsy troll is finally leaving my garden alone, at least for now. He now gives her inspiration from all our glorious blooms as they wander around. Now, he and his ladylove walk my garden path, leaving trails of beautiful stones. Troubles have come in many ways and sizes over the years, I must truly say… But with a mind and a touch of muse... They all seem to somehow fall away… Written 4-9-2012
