Poem
I don’t know who I am anymore Last night I was laid bleeding on the floor Asking myself who I was As the devil stood up in applause Asking for an encore he yelled and shouted in my head But I just kept bleeding even though I made it to my bed Off the floor and onto the bed, I was that much closer to God But the feeling was very odd I am dying with every breath I take Because the devil got me wrapped tighter than a cold-blooded snake I am surrounding with his power and what he has to offer No more blood left in me as I take my last breath The only thing on my mine is a cold death The lights go out and there is only darkness In which I know not where to go Wishing for that small little light to come But that’s a place I just came from So where am I now? Did I get rejected into the pits of hell Wait no it can’t be because I never fell I hear a voice, that of God, no it was that of a girl I can’t believe how beautiful she is like a shiny pearl Patience is the word she used Asking her why should I after my life has been bruised Time she said, only time will tell Right I said as I still don’t know if I am in heaven or hell Ignorant fool as she yelled to me Cant do nothing but agree Insightful words she said to me to get me through Associating myself with something false was so untrue Eyes opening for the darkness of a lonely place I am no longer bleeding but I look at myself in the mirror in disgrace My name is Jeremy as I say to myself She then said you do know who you are you were just lost I said thank you as she gave me the Lords cross She saved me in ways she will never know Looking at her and all her beauty I say thank you for you helped me when my life wasn’t on duty This has nothing to do with God and the devil This poem is so much deeper and on a higher level If someone does understand this poem then I stand up and applaud you For you have read this poem and didn’t read the surface but read through This is a part that’s deeper than the sea Because all I want to do with you is run free And one plus one equals two © Jeremy Fennell
