Poem
Something must be stirring around me, I really feel it when I'm alone. My friends say they can see it, I say "see what?" and they say "it's gone!" They say it looks like a halo or a ring moving around my head. Trapped on the face of Half Dome mountain at nightfall in deep dread. Another party said they saw a glowing light two hundred feet away. They came across to us, yelling "help" thinking that they were saved. We didn't have a light, ropes or water like they did, having backpacks. We all tied a rope to each other, eleven now and slept leaning back. The guy next to me kept saying "come on where's the flashlight?" People have described it as a shooting colorful band in day or night. It must enhance my aura, with so many people claiming to see it. I tried to just write it off and tell myself it's only a compliment. It feels like humming birds are flying in place with a slight humming. I am always in a state of slight euphoria when there is a sighting. So when people say, "you have something over your head" I have learned not to move, and just remain silent instead. Usually when I first meet people, they stare at "it" somewhat excited Some say, I shoots up like a bird and some say, it just dissipated. So the reality of this reappearance has now made me a believer. Years of sightings by friends and strangers, all seeing this shimmer. Thousands of close calls and so many brushes with death. Turning my head just in time or driving North instead of West. I think "it" was with me when a bullet lodged in my spine. No harm came to me, after my ribs healed up I was fine. This Earthbound hummingbird spirit has allowed me to live somehow. Fate and luck once in a while might have raised an eyebrow. I know I did, so thank you for watching over me. I am so humbled and a wondering who you might be.
