Poem
I toss and turn in my bed Unable to sleep God I need the rest But I can hear the roar of the thunder outside Along with my heartbeat The rain starts pouring down Making that wonderful sound I love to hear The one thing that makes me go into a deep sleep That gets me away from here When I fall asleep Everything just disappears When I fall asleep My troubles go away So I wonder why can't I stay? In a world that has no troubles Just to be a sleep floating in a bubble I'm not scared I just want to stay in my dream To escape my nightmare The rain continues to pour As I keep drifting more and more But I wonder will I even remember What I dream of while in this slumber? I doubt that I will But oh well I don't care Because now everything is still But I'm starting to wonder am I scared? When I fall asleep It keeps the monsters at bay They're not able to reach me I'm too far away When I fall asleep I'm out of everything's reach The only thing that I can hear is my heartbeat *bump bump* it goes Because I'm scared I just want to stay in my dream To escape my nightmare What is my nightmare you ask? Everything that has happened in my past I don't dwell on it that I do not But it is something that I have not forgot For it has effected my present and future I have been deprived of a life That every teenager my age should have Go out with friends and have a blast Instead no here I am Paying bills and stressing out Things I really shouldn't have to worry about But I'm strong and determined to go on It's all I can be But for right now I'll stay in my dream When I fall asleep I get locked in a bubble When I fall asleep That keeps out all my troubles But I'm learning the hard way Not to be scared No longer dream But face my nightmare A flash of lightning awakened me Darkness is all I could see But I realized The lightning popped my bubble Making me face my troubles Just like the lightning striking at any second Life can be the same But the real question is Can you hear the thunder roar? If so get ready for the rain
