Poem
This storys old but I will tell it anyways What’s brewing is the same speech I gave myself yesterday I'm using old material And it's not even feasible! And clearly not working You can find those words between the grave and me You’ll find my scribbled ink resting at the bottom of the Alfords plea Your landscape; my world This pre-apocalyptic summit is our Bambi but it died a grisly death a long time ago I'm suffocating your mind with the dark because that's where you've kept my depression for so long Innocence shaved you down, Grinded you up And drew you in a line with a credit card It said it was giving up on you since the aftermath left you so scarred I told you you were playing with fire And now under your sleeves, Reigns your new fashion statement of looking charred I let it go And there it went I let it go and wouldn't you know?! I never thought of it again And there it went And God already left when he found out I was reliving this story again Another year repeating this nightmare where every sentence is a test All of my angels called out with a permanent sick day And what was I supposed to say? Everyone knows I’ve never been cut out for confrontation We're only gypsies; rich with world experience, but we lost our bags full of roses and rubies I let you take a hit, And my radical forgiveness exploded your insides like a lava lamp You poked the bear and lead it right back to our camp But now look who screams; When looking in the mirror was only for “wannabe prom queens” Feeling the heat of a power struggle with hell Did I lose or did it default beneath me? Denial is your best friend I've never seen you two so chummy Scrubs and a scalpel, I've never seen you three so chummy And your revolving knife in my back Was a bigger twist than David and Goliath Am I at least top three on your patient list? Well I can't help but question your degree, When there's a non-medical blade plunged in my back you shouldn't need an X-ray to see And you said, don't let crusade starters get to your head The insults you launched at me was the firing squad instead So here, take a bigger hit and let it go straight to your head I let it go And there it went I let it go and wouldn't you know? I never thought of it again And there it went Despite the outcome, that was never up to us anyways My true intent will forever be a guessing game Like the light I tried to shed on this, comfortably it will die between the grave and I
