Poem
John 14:18 (KJV) “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” You’re the One who refused to leave When my heart was desperate, dark and dim Afraid that I would never know the love That once embraced my soul, carried me Through the fears, the tears and the years When my feelings lay broken beneath the sorrows, When my heart lay wrecked beneath the grief, When, everywhere I turned… There were doubts and betrayals, enemies Like worry and wailing, mourning for the moments When I had known a love that soared through the skies, Lingering in my heart, embracing my thoughts… Yes, once – there lived a love inside that was like light, Tender and insightful, a knowing that colored me bright, Ignited my yearnings, the burning that follows me Reminding me why I am alive, to love without giving in To the fears, the tears, the years that seek to dissuade…. Feelings so kind, so wonderful and dreamy, like a breathe Silencing the dark, repairing the heart, restoring the light – Like a beautiful that believes, even when there is grief, Belief that binds my feelings, wraps me in the miracles Love that knows the music, the harmonic rhythms – beating Away all the worries and fears, reassuring all my hopes – Abiding with me, where I finally know… It is love – love sent down from above, through His kindness His grace, seeing me through the doubts and disdain, Reminding me to listen to His voice – His still, small voice… Murmuring hope, faith and love into my soul, inspiring me To remember the music that blends with my tears and reassures Me – there is a song that only He can play, a song that only He can expose – it is a secret tune, the tune of faith and truth, The song that invites the singer to know the One who writes The music, the beautiful, the tenderness in each breathe, In each prayer and each promise… He remains the music for my soul, always playing, always crooning Like my heart who knows that He is love – my heart who knows He came down from above to give us a hope and a future, a promise Of what is to come – when we seek Him, we are pursuing our one true love!
