Poem
And was it not foretold from the days of my youth Your lives predicted in an absolute truth. You, Young Nick, spawn of the Old Nick, do that which you must do. Do it quickly. You have put it all in place; the people and the purpose. You have warped their minds, Now do your master’s bidding. Do you think you can turn my glory to shame? All you do is bring my Master more fame. Do you think you can tarnish my name with your Gullible Younger? Pah! All you do is prove my Master is stronger. You probably think you are a mastermind. Do you really think my Master minds? Do that which you have to do, Young Nick, spawn of the Old Nick. And do it quickly. Did you not know that I knew this was coming? Is it not written in my stars? Is it not all about my past? I have known it from my early Teens, and I have also known the Cast. There is of course you, the Villain of the piece; with your flared nostrils …and your accursed pursed lips. There’s the Gullible Younger, the ‘bullied mother’, as well as the ‘unmentionable other’. Yet I warned the former for threescore years And the latter the last five years. But it is my destiny - as foretold by the Highest That Be. There is nothing He cannot see, see? Do that which you have to do, Young Nick, spawn of the Old Nick Please do it quickly! Bring them that give you fake authority to oppress and suppress. My destiny is tied up with my Saviour’s. I am ready for the brutality and the evil to-do But unlike Him that I follow, I shall say with my dying breath: Father, forgive them not, for they know what they do. And it shall be that at the 12 of the XXV, the first woe shall come. And your XX shall bring you great sorrow for every tomorrow. And it shall be that at the 12 of the XXX There the full sorrows shall begin whereafter your master will fail and my Master will win And Atlas shall hope to be relieved of the burden of his sin. So do that which you have to do, Young Nick, Spawn of the Old Nick. Do do it quickly! It will not be a first. There was Jacob, and Joseph, and Job, and Jesus …oh, and of course Judas That’s you, the baddest kick-ass. The greenest ogre has crept into the blackest heart to display the reddest rage Just to usurp the brown sage. Why not do it quickly Young Nick? So that the eight after the eight, and a quarter after the V can unite And get set to take flight. In the throes of a ghastly scene In a world so sadly sick. You spawn of the Old Nick …Young Nick.
