Icicles hang on the edges Silence creeping into the conversation Revealing the boredom of this skirt Tendrils of frozen water suspended On hearts, hopes and dreams Moonlight flickers on the night Ebony haven of owl and coyote Animals wild and warmed by floods Glimmering rays from stars Drowning out the buzz of details Racing through minds haunted By gray clouds and mist Moments of intimate darkness Creeping into the spirit Dimming dread and expunging Fears of life’s breathless Eagerness to expect the best Heavy handed snow showers Form a clean, white earth Innocent of all the horrors Sorrows and grief, disillusionment Sleeping beneath the layers Feathery snow angels created By pale bodies, dancing With the flakes so alive Beckoning to laughter Warming the frozen whispers Sighs of soft flurries Erasing the earth’s murky past Coloring the very air In timid, cloudy skies silver Feelings, promises, visions History repeated each season As the drifts cover up filth With fluff, downy as grace Reassuring hearts who face Wars with despondent distress Dismay that is poured out Across the lavender seas Ghostlike fogs of disbelief Buttery sun caresses Naked ideas, peaceful Relieving the winds of loss Trading warmth for the cold Creating a singsong hope In the one who knows Winter bows to the embrace Of the morning sunlight The sigh of a blazing moment Arrayed in breathless promises Reminding dreams to believe And stories to take up their pen Creativity to sing again The day wipes away the gray Replacing the worry with faith The darkness with light The heartless with heartfelt Peace winds its way through minds Overgrown with weeds of noise Turbulence from the hardness Bound up in chains of shame The day penetrates with thanks Gratitude for the awakening Of a new dawn, a second thought The moments who stir up praise For the master, the maker, the Creator The One who gave us the laughter The melody and the hereafter The One who made a way Where there seemed to be no way Thanks to the sunny way Created by the hands who stay Alive on the hearts who believe Listening to His blessings who bring Second chances, new days, Amazing grace that awakens The heart to His intimate compassion Love that forever stays Alive, dancing with sweetest faith Seeking Him who makes each day Feel like a second chance to pray For the light who pours out on the soul Who knows He is the Lord of all He is the Lord, who encourages our love 5/26/22
