Sometimes it feels as if my prayers hit the ceiling Your word tells me its untrue But your silence leaves me reeling I call out to you from the depths of despair Wondering, hoping, and knowing that you will be there You’ve always been faithful, You’ve always been true But my life once again Has fallen askew O Lord why does this happen Do I look away Do I allow my own thoughts To lead me astray I’ve followed you now since the time I was eight So why is this always the same old debate My microwave prayers just won’t get this done So a time of renewing must be sought and won Heal me Lord of my want and desire Lead me O Lord to the realm that is higher Let me always be faithful Let me always be true Let me always be knowing I’m living for you But I cry out to you God This time please don’t tarry The emotions are raw And sometimes quite scary Touch those I love That whole they will feel Honor them with your presence And make yourself real That they feel your love Your devotion and protection That they wait on your answers To their burning questions That they can find a confidence in waiting and leaning And they check their thoughts for a higher meaning You’re God in the good times You’re God in the bad And in this world my armor I’ll always be clad So Satan take note Satan take heed My God comes to my rescue when I am in need I’ve been given authority over you Your final insult And such a coup So give a shout for victory For it will be mine Worshiping now will consume Most of my time Let us always remember And never forget That the battle was won Even though we don’t feel it yet When you’ve done everything That you know to do When the answers aren’t coming And you feel you are through Have faith that God always lends a hand And my sweet beloved I just ask that you STAND
