Poem
Sorrow weighed my soul down somehow Tomorrow is around the corner I was hurt way too many times now I was once a deep, deep forlorner Deliver me from desolation right now, right now The Lord responded to me when I cried out Mistreated and misunderstood, so I take a bow The forgiveness of Him heals me without a doubt Humility is given to those who wait patiently Enviousness will vanish away from us abruptly Mercy shall be received by the gratification of our hatredless heart Contemplating revenge won’t lead us anywhere, but tear us apart They say we are not promised tomorrow Today, saving grace sifted out the sorrow Evilness has resided in me for so long I’m sorry for everything I’ve done all along Internal thoughts feel like they are absolutely everlasting I feel as if I am falling fast asleep in clouds of negativity Yet, optimism saves me from tragedy’s undying sting I deal with these emotions of worthlessness in a frenzy I wish all the doubts and fears would be water under the cement I often dreamt of you and I, crying joyous tears, not resentment Cheer up and rise above the waters of woe, oh sorrowful soul of mine Someday, you will shine and you will be my sugar wine…if only you were mine… Forgive me seven times seven Give me your hell and heaven Release me entirely from rage’s incredible hold Mend me at ease please or I’ll be left in the cold Mine eyes are set on the Holy Hill of my Father He is like no other – He’s nurturing like no other Like a mother bear to her cubs is His love towards us His anger will be no more, for we are on the same bus Overcome these waves of emotion that come and go Numb me with bravery and lift the highest of my low Although seas and mountains are too intimidating to climb or swim, I will trek His road of abode and hold me for safety’s sake in a whim Some say we are not promised tomorrow But, God promises a greater Tomorrow Greater than this sorrow within me and you Greater than the feelings of bittersweet rue Some say we are not promised tomorrow Let my strength grow and His light glow God promises us an afterlife of beautiful blessings Let’s see what heavenly beams that God brings
