Poem
Cooling your glass in The cold waters That flow forth, fresh and crisp From my fragrant heart, I raise to you that cup of nectar And I am moved to see the grateful drops That form in your emerald eyes… We will sup a bit, and then We will dive, together, Clothed in our heavenly robes Into those crystal waters And come out again, With the fabric, clinging! Oh, Sun! Oh, Moon! The one, too bright, And the other, too soft To witness the coming of my Love, my Love! Oh, my Scheherazade! Your now-raven locks as thick As the grain of a horse’s hair, And soft, and strong, in my fingers Undo my resolve, utterly! My wild! My bright! My beauty-light! Who taught me that I must be As the Sun and Moon must be, And bow before your immediate Radiance Now! Transform again! Be the heavenly dove You always were, And reside in the dome of my heart, Near the gold-sparkled sea… My Fragrant! My Radiant! Ascended, and Free! 7/12/2019 Inspired by the notes of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade Suite, 1st Movement, and by my beautiful wife, Laurie
