The Bucket List Imagine if you will, a scene unlike any other, Sipping Espresso daybreak, foothills of snow that smother. Pavement Café in Zermatt, first patron of the morn’ Eyes glazed in wonder, the magnificence of Matterhorn. Imagine if you will, a sun ripened Italian sky, But not to the cities of Rome or Venice would I fly. Red roofs of Florence, architectural history gleans, Those ancient Piazzas of Pisa and a tower that leans. Imagine if you will, Notre Dame floating by the Seine, Scaling the heights of Eiffel, to view a Parisienne plain. A lady I long to meet, a lady with enigmatic smile. “Mona Lisa, how do you do, let me rest and talk a while.” Imagine if you will, Lake Jasper early Spring or Fall, Nestling in the Rockies, untamed nature wild at call. Witness at first hand, native animals free and loose, Brown and Grizzly Bears at home with Canadian Moose. The Bucket List part 2 Imagine if you will, stones of Sarson and Blue, Astronomical timepiece of Summer Solstice due. Ancient City of Bath, Roman’s take their spa, Monumental Royal Crescent, grandeur gone too far Imagine if you will Grand Masters on the wall, Constable and Van Gogh, the National has them all. The longest running show, a murder mystery play, Sworn to secrecy “who done it” I truly cannot say. Imagine if you will, where Thomas was no more, At Canterbury Cathedral, smite and fell to floor. Compact bijou city, once protected by walls of old, Chaucer wrote some tales of working-class gold. Imagine if you will, mighty bridges over the Forth, The railroad came of age, boasting for all it’s worth. A Loch that holds a secret, never too reveal, Beastie, myth or legend, A master of conceal. The Bucket List part 3 Imagine if you will. A long walk from here to there, Lands End to John O’ Groats, 800 miles and some to spare. Perhaps whilst in Cornwall, a venture I might make, A trip to Scilly St Agnes by ‘Copter, should I take? Imagine if you will, Gods sculptures on the Earth, Hexagonal pillars of stone conceived at creations birth. Island of Staffa hosts a Cathedral on the Sea, Inspiration for Peer Ghynt, Fingals Cave in minor D. Imagine if you will, air breathing giants of the Pacific, My quest to follow the Whale, a Blue one to be specific. Largest creature that ever lived, air, sea or land. Following this dream till I die, to see a Whale close to hand.
