Poem
Once I held a diamond in my hand, whose beauty consumed me like a fire. With every sparkle the flame was fanned, her every touch stoked my desire. I was afraid to let her beauty shine, my lovely diamond I would not share. So in total darkness I kept her blind, I shut the door and held her there. One day I took her out to see the sun, how she shimmered in those rays of light. When her moment in the sun was done, I put her in my pocket and shut it tight. Somewhere in the night she disappeared, for I had woke to find my diamond gone. The day had come that I had feared, the ray of light was taken from my dawn. In my heart I allowed jealousy to rule and let slip through my hands a precious jewel. 11/4/18
