Patterns
The orange bee did not fancy her
So, flamboyant, she departed.
But the yellow bee toured the hearth
Until the birth of dusk.
And then, with passion like a dirty desire,
She descended, iced, into the hearth....

The Hermitage
Visited The Hermitage;
(That's Andrew Jackson's home).
My husband looks for history
Wherever we do roam.

We toured the house and grounds
And what we learned was surely plenty;
But best of all, a photo op
With my face on the 20!...

Premium Member Why See the World
Haven't toured Paris
    Never stopped in Rome
  Vienna doesn't interest me
    I'd rather just stay home

I can gaze at Mars from here
or look up at the Moon
  Imagine Saturn's dazzling rings
Aw, hell, I think I'll join you soon...

Inferred Occurred and Cured
what we have heard inferred
this was the word which occurred
reassured could be cured

(with terror endured)
(while on trip we toured)
(while attending herd)
(mentioned by a bird)
(completely absurd)
(being a numb skull)
(said by when cat purred)...

Contemplations On Paris
I've spilled blood in France,
and toured long the tired mile,
and I've seen all bones and gold,
Place Concorde,
and Château de Versailles,

yet Paris is not built with stone...
nor made real with the work of men,
it is a state of mind, and a dream
that never ends....

Master's Call
Master's Call We gave our all to build the wall of Love so tall. Then came the fall of that great wall We watched football we toured the mall both big and small before the fall of that great wall You gave your all I gave my all We held the wall till I gave all for Master's Call

The Beatles Against Segregation
In 1964 the Beatles toured the USA
And they stood against the Segregation way
John said they would rather lose the cost
Than take the stage with a segregated crowd as it was a loss

Even in these modern days where this stance
Makes you hip in your current civil rights dance
They stood tall and did not fall
And know it at that time a courageous call.

A Walk In Paris
Beside the Eiffel Tower,
I walked alone;
and gaped at gardens
with cherry-hued blooms.
My lips had felt
the warmth of brew,
while seraphs played
the strings of harp.

I toured the city,
the parks as well;
I watched the sun
as it bade goodbye.
The sky, though black,
was filled with gems:
luring my eyes,
winning my heart.

Shipwrecked
How dumb I was
when I danced into that
countryside floral
patched square of greenery
and
an expectation that was no more than a rogue wave,
tilted and uncanny as the solar eclipse,
washed me up like a dead seal
to your shore of lure and promise,
hot and heavy as a snowdrift,
then changed into
the finality of a shipwreck.
I was the aftermath of young parents,
who toured the ruins of Athens
before they hit thirty....

Mind Drifting Freely
my mind is drifting
it is no longer sagging
instead it is smiling
new discoveries will be seen
my eyes have more color
my ears hear more sound
my nose inhales more clearly
a better place i now am

my mind is drifting
it is no longer worrying
instead it feels free
new places will be toured
the weight no longer binds me
the strings no longer entwines me
the thorns no longer lacerate me
a straighter stance i now stand...

My Celestial Sled
I was looking at the starry sky
When past a comet sped.
Oh, how I wished I could
Attach to it a sled.

I'd hurtle through the universe
Such things would I see,
Planets never seen before
And distant galaxies.

I could watch a super nova
Dodge pulsars cosmic rays,
And marvel at planetary rings
As I toured the milky way.

I could fly through a nebula
As on and on I sped,
Then shoot off to infinity,
Aboard my celestial sled....

Hesitation
I toured the world in search of deepest cavern,
Into its dark core I yearn to build a castle,
To let my hesitation live the life of his own.
Too much under him I have served
From the infant dawn to the tootless dust,
I have served him enough, haven't I.?
What opulent reward awaits me
For being his only loyal servant?
Procrastination? yeah! procrastination,
A reward of his good for nothing.

#Don't hesitate to do what you belive in....

The Pianist
They were invincible
whenever they’re onstage:
piano on the lead
with violin
as his accompaniment.

They toured the cities,
the parks as well;
soft harmonies they played
that all, including men
went envying them—

violin had felt betrayal
from her own bow.
It snapped her strings;
made it sever—
leaving piano out of tune.

Despite his downfall,
piano persisted performing
on stage, but alone—
playing his wife’s
funeral song....

Premium Member The Fabulous Me and the Resentments
I've toured the world and lived life hard,
Sordid tales I can not hide.
I've logged some miles, they're on my face
And in the baggage by my side.

I've made poor choices in the past.
Tried hard to let memories go.
But sometimes scars don't fade away,
They stay to help you know.

Every day my satchels packed,
Carrying acts that need repentance.
Swinging on the shoulders of my all girl band
The Fabulous Me and The Resentments.

Wakodahatchee Wetlands
The trees were filled with herons
On a branch or in a nest.
To see the babies being fed
And squawking was the best.

Some other birds were sitting
On a batch of eggs, bright blue,
While alligators poked their heads
From water, like they do.

Assorted ducks and feathered friends
I couldn’t really name
Were flying yon and thither
To the birders’ great acclaim.

My visit to the wetlands
I was sorry had to end,
But mostly ‘cause I toured it with
A dear and much-missed friend....
