ICHABOD THE TURTLE

There once was a snapping turtle named Ichabod,
An intrepid soul, his legs lightning rods.
    Rabbits, he outpaced, left them confused,
    And with his speed, they were not amused. 
Oh how all the other turtles did applaud!

“You run like a Greek god!” they said agog.

Dad, Wynken, Blynken, and Nod's not right;
    Seems to me they’ve not a clue.
For starters, they tried to sail at night,
    Though wood shoes float, that much is true.
And then they meet a talking moon:

The family is the heartbeat of God
The masterpiece of God’s creation
A mystery of two becoming one,
Yet one turned to thousands,
And thousands into generations.
The family, a unit so strong…
 built a tower so tall it knocked,
At the gate of heaven!

The light of the society
The cleanser and purifier…

“The Glory Has Departed...” 


Before the next church service 
you attend gets started... 
Perhaps on the door should read; 
“God's glory has departed.” 

Many come on Sunday morning 
and don't even know. 
That's God's glory left such 
a long time ago. 

Many build their Sunday experience 
on “past traditions.” 
Built on man-made rules and
