The Rook-ie Senator Who Dethroned King Trump

Standing ovations and rounds of applause The elephants trumpeted just because T-rump pulled their puppet strings As if he had Angel wings They should've been protesting with guffaws I chose not to watch the bigotted sap Or hear the hypocrite spew words he'd yap At the butt kissing event My time was much better spent Wondering how people believe his crap A message in response to Trump's address Elissa Slotkin spoke of the big mess* and in ten minutes of time She was utterly sublime With "Checkmate" she dethroned Trump's king in chess *Elissa Slotkin is the newly elected Democratic Senator who delivered the rebuttal to Trump's address to Congress

Lin, she did do an excellent job. I was glad to see the democrats have someone who can sum up reality without wasting our time. The address given by DT was classic snake oil. The misinformation he gave about social security was classic oligarch propaganda. Smiles!!

Dear Lin, I need to watch his latest speech, as for your poem; you have written very well as always with excellent rhymes, in the form of limerick! Made me smile too! I find most politicians selfish and narcissistic and use us all as clowns in their circus, as they have their own agenda, unfortunately. But many are brainwashed. You do this form so well! Lin, your poem allowed me to see a clearer picture of Sen. Slotkin. Ty. I watched the video rebuttal, and read everything about the Michigan Senator, and am grateful that she stood up to Trump. Everything she said will be prophetic. The country will sink into a recession, unfortunately. I do think that with mounting resistance to Trump's chaos by the way of Senators speaking out and the public condemning Trump can impede the President's destructive path that he is leading the country in.

Thank you, Connie. She said what many Americans are feeling. Resistance is building but as long as he holds a pen in his greedy hand, owns the loyalty of Congress and has the key to the Supreme Court's bathroom, his arrogant rump is in charge of too many things. Something or someone must find a way to impede the antagonistic demands he's making on other nations and by default, on us.

I couldn’t watch but read about it this morning. His words are such demeaning slurs on Democracy. You’d have him horsewhipped and dragged out of Milton Creek for far less crap. Thanks, Tom.
