Wonderful entry to Michele's contest, James!! I love the simplicity of this choice of music as well...(Neil Young is a favorite of ours)! Thank you also, James, for your very generous comments. You always make me feel good with your kind words! :) ~ Carrie

Congrats to you as well dear James. I am enjoying your lastest poetry as we speak. I'm sure you will hear more from me. I am currently trying to write the funniest poem ever. I'm giving myself six months to create it. It is of a new form I am creating and I hope it catches on. Love and Peace-AA

Michael, I'm really embarrassed (seriously), I just don't get the couplet or haiku. If someone would take me by the hand, I might get it. I'm so meat and potatoes when it comes to poetry that it would not do for me to even comment on it. I do good with free verse, rhyming, and the strict format of the quatrain, and pretty much write exclusively in the latter. This is not an apology for my work, I'm very proud I have the skill and have spent many years perfecting it. Hope you understand... ~<><

Oh, James, you didn't even have to tell us the story behind this -- somehow the reader just knows. Marvelously done! I can hear those arrows whizzing past Custer on his ill-fated "Last Stand." Great work! Love, Carolyn
