Creative Train of Thought
I think I won’t write any poems today
Let some ideas fester and come to term
It’s not that I don’t have anything to say.
Many of my thoughts make me squirm
Some ideas, temporarily lost, will return

Rarely do I have an idea I totally spurn
Before I lose my creative train of thought
Some ideas, temporarily lost, will return.
Sometimes ideas erupt in full-blown plot,
And I am forced to stop everything to write
Before I lose my creative train of thought.
My experiences are often the poet’s plight
When inspiration strikes with no warning
And I am forced to stop everything to write.
Even when idle, creative ideas are aborning
I think I won’t write any poems today,
