"Brave Heart"
O what Leonine love
could sway
iron clad heart
to move closer
reflection
watches stealth like
under cover
kneads softly
some kind need
from altered
genuflection
wrong gone right
an eye remains
genuine to see
evermore clearly
the truth of light
words from lips
kiss the realm
of silent victory
softly velvet pawed
bereft of a harsh world
conquering Boadicea’s
dark cold cemeteries and
bleeding hearts' world
to claim
as own territory
imprinting
what beauty remains
it waits fierce
inside
unseen,
unwanted
the whisperer
now calls in hunter
to a shining
warmer climb
raising the stakes higher
ermine royal
of such a small kingdom
yet so large inside
folds into the arms
of sleep that seems
wanting of a thousand years
wanting to return to life
the girl awakes
the woman
moves storms
calms juvenile earthquakes
childish trepidation
becomes ancient
tired paradigm,
no need to perpetuate
wrong side’s spite
both eyes
watch
one
alike
inside
both contain
the phantom
might
velvet soft
Lionheart
truth sees
the seer
sees it all
as it truly is
light moves
evermore closer in
steadfast
hears her call
treading carefully
where once fools rushed in
the kitty
holds it all
directs direct thought
winner holds the bird
over all
Braveheart
and She,
Joker
his new claimed world
love moves
strangely
towards love
no fear
no fear
at all

“Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.”
C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
“I was the lion who forced you to join with Aravis. I was the cat who comforted you among the houses of the dead. I was the lion who drove the jackals from you while you slept. I was the lion who gave the horses the new strength of fear for the last mill so that you should reach King Lune in time. And I was the lion you do not remember who pushed the boat in which you lay, a child near death, so that it came to shore where a man sat, wakeful at midnight, to receive you.” C.S. Lewis
“I have come,” said a deep voice behind them. They turned and saw the Lion himself, so bright and real and strong that everything else began at once to look pale and shadowy compared with him.” C.S. Lewis
