well, i never heard of it, but knowing where you live and the way you describe it, makes it easier to imagine it! I bet you could do a ton of these kinds of poems about various plants and animals you are familiar with! LUv, andrea

James, A kind of funny looking yellow fruit, until you slice it and see the perfect star shape. They are delicious and abundant here in Hawaii. Your description is pretty accurate and I enjoyed your poem. We just call them star fruit here. Aloha, Connie Thank you for commenting on "New Year, Past Years"

Sounds like quite a tasty fruit, James. You have been moving in new directions with your poetry and I admire your diversity. Send some of these treats to the states -- haven't ever tasted them. Love the Highlander, Carolyn

Nice Haiku(s), James. Nature is full of interesting substances... like this star fruit. I enjoyed reading about it at the following link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacaranda Thanks for a little more education! Lovingly, Dane Ann

Oh, how nice and sweet and sour perhaps too. You come up with interesting titles, probably the scientific name. Well written Haiku, James! Thanks for sharing and thank you for your kind comments on my featured poem. Best wishes, Caroline.

I like that star fruit as a treat sometimes. Glad that you wrote about. Like the approach that you took. Keep the creative pen flowing. Star fruit in the class as grapefruit in that it can be dangerous for some people with certain genetics and certain illnesses and on certain meds. Sara
