The structure adds to the beauty of this.poem IMHO. Your command of English only adds to the rhyme and rhythm and seems to flow effortlessly. I love a good challenge. You set the bar high with this example.

I absolutely love this form, I enjoy challenging aspects of structure, and you competition was certainly that. This one took me a while to create and conceptualize. However, in comparison to yours, I still don't feel it has the incredible control of English that you hold. This is an amazing poem, and I hope you continue both this form, and writing poetry in the future Thanks - Tristan

I think when we stop growing and improving, that's when we should give it up. We ALL learn from one-another, and that's what I love most about this encouraging community! Many thanks and blessings, my friend! :-)

This is such an awesome comment, Tristan, and so heartfelt ... I greatly appreciate the kind words, and I'm so pleased that you liked the form and my take on it. I enjoy challenging structure as well, and while most of the world leans toward Free Verse these days, I am personally more fond of Rhyme, (though I love both for their aspects). Please don't sell yourself short or compare to mine - we all go through stages of development, and the SAME stages at one time or another, so be confident in where you are, and keep striving to improve ...

Just dropped in to say I love this poem and will FAV it for sure and this form is so pleasant to read...rolls off the tongue so easily. I don't know if I can/will enter your contest as I am not yet in your caliber of poetry but just wanted to let you know I really love this poem.

Oh, you are certainly my caliber and easily capable of a gem in this style, Carole ... please never sell your talents short, my friend, as you are very talented, and this whole thing is about improving for ALL of us. New forms are a GREAT tool for spreading your wings and improving, and I'm sure you'd do well! Try it and surprise yourself, my friend! :-) <3

Glad I came back to study out the form before trying it. I see the final stanza can be all different lines just using rhyme from the other stanzas. This is very eloquent, Greg. An impressive poetry form. I am feeling disappointed because I had spent an hour last night digging for good one syllable words to use in Silent One's contest. Came here this evening and saw the contest was done. DANG. I hate wasting my time. It just really gets me!!

Both the content and the form are worthy of praise, Gregory. What I'm still not sure about is whether the lines are meant to have the same syllable count or not, considering that in this example syllable count fluctuates a lot. Thank you. Regards // paul

No, syllable count is not an issue, Paul ... it can be any number the author wishes, although it will score higher if it has a regular rhythm and metre. So pleased you enjoyed it, my friend! :-)

Hey Greg, youre a word mechanic. The alliteration is yummy and your usual use of descriptions never dissappoints. I am not qualified to criticize. I really think is fantastic. The Grebardian rhyme works! If it aint broke ,dont fix it
