May Wedding Poems and Vows

Wedding Toast

 St. John tells how, at Cana's wedding feast,
The water-pots poured wine in such amount
That by his sober count
There were a hundred gallons at the least.

It made no earthly sense, unless to show
How whatsoever love elects to bless
Brims to a sweet excess
That can without depletion overflow.

Which is to say that what love sees is true;
That this world's fullness is not made but found.
Life hungers to abound
And pour its plenty out for such as you.

Now, if your loves will lend an ear to mine,
I toast you both, good son and dear new daughter.
May you not lack for water,
And may that water smack of Cana's wine.

Pardners On the Trail

When someone rides the trail alone,
It's a lonely way to go,
Without a place to hitch the heart,
And without a warm, true love to know.

But when a cowboy rides the trail
With his lady by his side,
Even when the traveling's rough,
Life's trail can be a joyful ride.

So, saddle up and hit the trail,
And may your lives be ever blessed,
As you ride along, side by side,
Toward the sunset in the west.

The Cherry Trees

 The cherry trees bend over and are shedding,
On the old road where all that passed are dead,
Their petals, strewing the grass as for a wedding
This early May morn when there is none to wed.

Soldier Boy

 My soldier boy has crossed the sea
 To fight the foeman;
But he'll come back to make of me
 And honest woman.
So I am singing all day long,
 Despite blood-shedding;
For though I know he's done me wrong,
 We'll end by wedding.

My soldier boy is home again,
 So bold and scathless;
But oh, my heart is numb with pain
 Because he's faithless.
He's brought with him a French Mam'selle;
 They plan a marriage;
Maybe I'll go - no one will know
 Of my miscarriage.

My soldier boy has made his choice,
 She'll hold him to it;
I tell myself that I rejoice,
 May he not rue it.
But oh, that starry month of May,
 Love-words wild spoken!
I stand alone and make no moan . . .
 My heart is broken.

I Shall Not Burn

 I have done with love and lust,
 I reck not for gold or fame;
I await familiar dust
 These frail fingers to reclaim:
 Not for me the tiger flame.

Not for me the furnace glow,
 Rage of fire and ashen doom;
To sweet earth my bones bestow
 Where above a lowly tomb
 January roses bloom.

Fools and fools and fools are you
 Who your dears to fires confide;
Give to Mother Earth her due:
 Flesh may waste but bone will bide,--
 Let loved ones lie side by side.

Let God's Acre ever dream;
 Shed your tears and blossoms bring;
On age-burnished bone will gleam
 Crucifix and wedding ring:
 Graves are for sweet comforting.

 Curst be those who my remains
 Hurl to horror of the flames!

Joshua

Every kiss sends a shock through me
Every touch makes my heart stop
The way he looks a me when making love
Makes my stomach turn into a knot
I want to know everything about him
I know this may sound just a little bit silly
But I want to be with him forever
And be Mrs. Joshua Lilly

In My Heart

I feel in my heart he will stay.
He lives in my heart.
He is what I live for.
He is faithful to me,
I am faithful to him.
We may pass on,
But our love will live on if only in memory.

Yes?

Deep feelings of bliss
love and rejoice,
confusing thoughts
that leave me no choice.

Should I kiss you
or should I wait,
our love's the catch
your lips the bait.

Do I need to ask
should I even dare,
wedlock's the question
for a perfect pair.

When I look into your eyes
I can't help but to feel,
the warmth of your soul
heaven has to be real...

Answer me baby
though it may cause some stress,
when I pop the question
will the answer be yes?

The Key To the Heart

It's something meant to cherish,
And is guarded, Oh, so well.
The contents one will find inside
Reflect this foreign cell.
On its door contains a lock
Made entirely of solid gold.
Only one is able to open it
And find treasures unforetold.
Some hold tightly to its value
And they keep it close to heart,
While others may give it freely
Right off from the very start.
The thought to hold onto to
Guide you through each day,
Is to wait for that treasure
Of equal value, to exchange
On one's wedding day.

Souly Yours

I want to be manipulated
and made into
The River's self-consciousness
cleansed and new with every bend
so that I may be
Souly Yours.

A Uniting of Hearts

A union of two hearts
Becoming one forever.
The happiest of marriages,
including one more.
Someone to guide you
through life's storms.
He's the glue that bonds your love,
Making dreams come true,
sending blessings from above.
May the day be special
filled with joy!
May the love you have found be bound
by glory!
Trust in God, trust in each other,
 May you have a happy life
Forever together.

I'Ve Been Waiting For This

As the sun sets on yet another beautiful day
I sit alone outside grateful that I may
Life isn't perfect and life isn't grand
But you are here to hold my hand
People are cruel, this we know to be true
Each day is brighter, thanks to you
As our hair grows grey year after year
Never again will living be filled with fear
Stand up and shout it to the hills and streams
To the stars in the heavens and sunbeams
I've been waiting for this all of my life
And it happened the day I became your wife

My True Love

You are my  friend.

You are my love.

You were sent to me by the one up above.

You are so wonderful.

I am blessed that you're in my life.

My whole world changed

the day we became man and wife.

I never thought i would ever find someone like you,

but GOD had it all planned out.

We were always meant to be together,

i know that without a shadow of a doubt.

There may be times we will struggle.

There may be times we will want to give up.

Lets always remember to work together.

You are my angel.

You will always be the man i love.

I Promise

I promise to love you on our good days and bad.
I promise to respect you no matter how our opinions on the matter may clash
I promise to honor you by never putting you down nor allowing others.
I promise to try not to embarrass you in front of others.
I promise to stand by you in sickness and in health, for I love you.
I promise to share in the trails and tribulations life may throw our way.
I promise to help you no matter how different we may be.
I promise to hold our truth's dear.
This I promise you.
