TOUSLED SKY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thoughts upon feathered wings glide on a wind-tousled sky bringing me to the realization that achieving tranquility is possible....
in the silence deep
a world of thoughts, a universe
expands and contracts
universe within,
a guiding force navigates
the journey inward
in tranquility
wisdom's jeweled treasures found
mind and soul entwine
Premium Member On a dreamy evening, when stars dance on the velvet sky
On a dreamy evening, when stars dance on the velvet sky,
His hands, like shadows, clasped my neck in an endless waltz,
My breath, like a wisp of smoke, fades in the sweet dusk.
A hammer rose, shattering the silence of my fragile skull,
Red blood, like a river of rubies, flows on the pure snow,
White as the souls that are lost in the eternal abyss of night.
The orange sky, shedding its skin like a lost dream,
Turns to blue, then to black, akin to my body,
The sky descends to embrace me in its infinite arms.
His blow, a background song, accompanying the final dance,
'What a sweet night,' I tell myself, becoming one with the velvet sky,
One with the snow that embraces my life stolen by the cold breath.
All thanks to his powerful blow that sealed fate,
And thus I was lost in the night, in the embrace of the eternal,
A dream and a memory, merging into the cosmic silence.
                                                 Where stars weave though velvet sky
                                                        Is born a limpid nebula to eye.
                                                      Shining smartly in the soft night,
                                                        Twinkling with an outlying light
                                                          All across the shadowy sky,
                                                          Radiates beauty to the eye.
Blood Moon captivates sky-gazers around the world
I timed my departure to coincide with the
lunar eclipse, but the
eastern horizon wasn't apparent,
in the park, or at the top of the road
my local high points
I scanned the firmament along with
other rando hopefuls but there was
no show to see so
onwards and upwards we went
as wine of a deep red hue
wasn't going to
buy or drink itself
Premium Member Beyond the Horizon
The sky and sea intermingled as a mist evolved.
Soon a moon appeared surrounded by tiny stars.
From the beach, a whisper of awe arose, all wondered
Onlooking the misty phenomenon of a beauty rarely seen.
Night fell and some bathers rested on the sandy beach.
Could the sky kiss the sea, most wondered musing a lot.
It was a sensation of wonder and mystifying occurrence
Yet finally most lay down into a deep sleep and dreamt.
A summerlike breeze swirled around them prodding dreams.
Most wondered what could one find beyond the horizon.
Many felt that beyond was a void, others dreamt of sunken ships.
But many dreamt of fantastic beings that hovered around.
Soon the sun rose from faraway.  Ships sailed placidly
And on the horizon, a cruise ship manoeuvred to far off lands.
It was a soft rain -- yes, I stated soft,
for rain has many texture -- some even
color.  Imagine a spectrum-brush dragged
across a well wetted, primed sky, which
muted technical, dully call~ a Rainbow.
It was a long anticipated rain:
Saguaro Sentinels weary, dryly
on guard -- bristled their natural pins and needles
A night, of many, thirsty
dark folds, imbibing deeply:
Desert craving saturation --
Just beyond the dawn tomorrow
if not for some minor residue dew
the blessing will again be entirely gone --
witness the browning green hint of
a brief gully front lawn --
Premium Member Pillows in the sky
Pillows in the sky
float in the breath of the wind
slowly moving,  soft flying views
Time to rest in the clear space of mind
Pillows in the sky
waiting, shining, showing
all the special things to find
Clouds like these pillows, in the sky
are not the only reason
for rest and for dreams
It's all more than it seems
Free Fall
Jumping quickly
out
of known security
into
animation, suspended
above
hard reality
in
momentless time.
Gliding smoothly
through
unknown thoughts
past
unlimited dreams
near
unlived fantasy.
Landing finally
midst
broken dreams
of
desired wishes.
Reflecting quickly
upon
what could have been.
Knowing it never was.
Premium Member Sky Blue is Difficult to Paint
no color is as difficult to paint because sky blue is from God’s brush
yet we try to recreate it in faded blue jeans, paints and colored pencils.
We have nearly perfected her when we realize we did not even get close.
I laid in the grass today to watch sky blue wondering how to get her right.
She has a cloudy misty milky frothy quality I can neither describe or paint.
I took out other colors and mixed without the result I had been seeking.
Adding glitter glue helped give sky blue a little bit of her pop and fizzle.
I finally gave up realizing that God has His own unique brush and colors.
          Azure-blue, the sky
             wipe your tears dry
          Fresh, the face of day
             put your fears away
          Sparkling morning dew
            you can sparkle too
          Nature's call renewed
            ~ now she's dialing you
