Premium Member Silver Air

pearl-soft rain gathers
at the threshold of early spring;
your compass traces
a quiet path through the silver air,
where calm awe begins to rise.

Premium Member Autumn's Window

autumn leaves scatter across the sill,
their colors soft as brushed velvet~
russet, gold, and a whisper of fading green
that still remembers summer.

a small breath of steam unfurls from a cup,
steeped with cinnamon and leaf-soft calm,
settling lightly over the open book.

outside, amber leaves drift and circle
before touching the clear stream,
each one landing with the gentlest sigh~

the whole season has paused
allowing you to rest within its tranquility.

After Six

surrounded by space

       in a soundtrackless cinéma vérité;

long stares out of the window,

             cigarettes after sex;

finally, she whispers, 'do you love only me?'

             the question remains unanswered

                     while seasons fade.

the walls start closing in,

       echoing the decade of quietude;

the busy streets outside remain,

              stiff gins after six;

finally, she sighs, 'do you still love me?'

               and while seasons fade,

                      the question remains.

Premium Member Stay calm and bunny on

I'm in my Easter bunny outfit
fitting right in with the crowd.
If I close my eyes I hear the disco music
and blend in with the other groupies.
Life is simple as we parade our youth,
just another bunny without a care in the world.

Premium Member When it was all much simpler

I remember the nights
when the sound of your voice
would caress my soul and reassure me.
The gentle warmth of your words
would embrace me and convince me
that everything would be alright.

Premium Member Poetry Wheel Says......

In the pretty pink sand I sit,
on a tropical island that is sunlit.

The blue water is very calm,
in the distance with a huge black palm.

The clouds are taking a break,
no rain for the weather's sake.

I love there is no time here,
my alarm clock can bring me no fear.

Dreams are taking me far away,
I want to stay for another day.

Life

Life

How flexible you are.
Today you are fierce,
tomorrow you are gentle.
One moment, innocent as the morning dawn;
the next, a mystery wrapped in silence.

We chase your meaning,
longing to understand your ways,
yet you flow like a river
endless in its journey,
winding through valleys,
climbing rugged hills,
tumbling down steep cliffs,
then resting in tranquil waters.

Oh, Life,
you are a tapestry of wonder,
forever changing,
forever teaching,
forever beyond our grasp.

Premium Member Musings by the river

A calm current passes by
in one easy endless flow;
time does not stand still.

All cares vanish in a world
that does not care
about petty grievances.

A hypnotic lull pacifies my spirit
as I freely abandon my thoughts
to a wise ageless river.

Premium Member over

(a simple breakup, in Senryus)

I said I’m “fine,” which
was absolutely true - just
not where he’s concerned.

Our story ended,
a cancelled series without
lesson or climax.

I was proud of us,
we ended things maturely,
no one told the truth

He wasn’t in my
life but somehow he never
left my contact list
.
.
A song for this:
Only the lonely by the Motels

Premium Member My Personal Challenge-The Romantic Seasonal Storm

Storm came from nowhere
Hope this won't ruin affair
Amber eyes so bright
Spring season mirror says right
I whisper being your knight

The Calm

The Calm

The calmness of the rain
The gentle winds
Makes me feel safe within
Washing things away
That should've been gone
Now I dont feel alone
Washing away mistakes
Washing away the dirt off the plates
Come on i know we can relate
Do you know the feeling
When you are willing
To no longer remain numb
You have experienced the Calm

The Calm
The Calm
It comes after the storm
(Repeat 1x)

We've all withered
Through different weather
Trying to get ourselves together
We have had endured the pain
Covering it up with smiles and laughter
People never talk about
What happens after
What happens after everyone is gone
And its just you
Tell me who do you run too
No friends to.pick up
No one to empty your cup
You put your head in between your palm and somehow you remain calm
And you start to say
I trust you God have your way

The Calm
The Calm
It comes after the storm
(Repeat 1x)

Take a deep breath
In and out
Trust him
Thats what calmness is all about

The Calm
The Calm
It comes after the storm
(Repeat until chorus fades )

Premium Member A distant tree

A lone tree on top of the hill,
I wondered how it stood so still,
wind and rain, and through winter chill,
stood all seasons with a strong will.

my time went by from youth to age,
events moved on in life’s each page,
fear, doubt, insecurity, rage,
calm restored when wisdom brought sage.

the northern star would shine and fade,
in Sunset, Sunrise day would trade,
in a world that values gold and jade,
tree stood still with eternal shade.

In fates currents of ease and pain,
when alone in emotive strain,
I would look past my long dark lane,
from a far tree much wisdom gain.

Premium Member Out of Reach

I wish I could give myself completely
surrender to the arms of the unknown...
Bask in the sea of meditation and
find the serenity I have been seeking

Where My Heart Dwells

Beyond the deep of my imagination
And from anguish of soul,
This love of mine knows no boundary
Endowed emotion as whole.

Within my heart lies a sea of Amity
Full of devotion, calm and bright,
Gaze of mine remains bound to you
Your glimpse of joy fuels its light.

Premium Member The Calm After the Storm

Menacing clouds, with faces black,
fierce thunderbolts that roar and crack.
Strong howling winds that make trees snap,
Wind-driven rain that windows slap.
The storm that fills our hearts with fear,
gives way to skies, surreally clear.

The calm belies the peril posed
by the fierce storm that ‘round me closed.
It makes a fool of frightening fears
While howling winds assailed my ears.
As pranksters’ tricks can make me squeal,
the calm clouds a fear that was real.

The calm that follows a windstorm
Should our impatient hearts transform,
the storms that at times roar and rage
prepare us for our life’s next stage.
But if we do not pass the test,
We sure will miss life’s very best.
