Winter
Winter breathes a fantasy into morning.
Wreaths of icy crystalline drift through gardens.
Snowflakes dance a rhapsody over meadows
Wonderland divine...
Flurries chant their signatures at the daybreak,
Swirling wonder, shimmering crystal magic.
Falling silver serenades sing in plainsong -
Seasonal carols…
Solstice cycle symphonies float like diamonds.
Jewels of the jubilee capture sunlight.
Barren landscapes murmuring transformations -
Miracles abound.
Snow is drifting; sugar-like are its crystals
falling on my tongue, but dissolving swiftly -
neither taffy-sticky nor toffee crunchy;
Eye-candy softness.
Twirling in the rosy pink sky of twilight -
cotton candy clouds are the heaven’s sweetness.
Night is falling. Silver becomes the skyscape.
Whiteness is tumbling.
Moon’s glow shows me mounds of a deeper snowfall.
Almond Joy now springs to my mind, but greater
comes the cheer my innermost child is feeling.
Winter brings Christmas.
When the silky light teases, slowly filters
through the land of drowsiness, gently rippling
into ardent red allure, whispers linger
sweetly seductive.

April's mist has filtered the early sunrise,
Meadows spread their blankets of colored rainbows
Newborn lambs have nestled in clover cradles,
christened by dewdrops

Shifting sands beneath me leave soft impressions
Like the gentle etchings upon my pages
It is not my goal to create a pattern
Ever enduring

Scintillating hues disperse on blank canvas,
electric essence sparks azure palate mauve;
incandescent lightning leads to the ballroom--
of galactic blaze.
Vivacious seagulls draped in white fly afar,
sing to forlorn sandcastles on tranquil shore;
breathtaking notes vibrate subdued strings of breeze--
pearly mist of harps.
Inhaling sultry waves of hot topanga,
I flicker with burning golden lantern wick;
awaiting tides adorned with velvet mirage--
your silk memories.
Moonbeams rejuvenate my drowning desires,
I write your name on sand to be washed away;
your halo descends to embrace me with love--
on my yearning pier.

A top the verdant mountains of nirvana,
A most limitless effulgent radiance
Across azure sky, spilled crimson horizon;
a morning sunlight.
A knight stands, his hand gripping the swords white hilt,
His black tunic and cloak flapping in the wind.
The swords crescent hilt curved from a dragon's tooth,
he'd named, Dragon's Tooth.
He breathed in the aroma of petrichor.
He desired to see the dragons fly once more
Their large outstretched wings weaving between the clouds,
wild as black night silk.
Dragons roaring with the loud clap of thunder
Coloring the night sky with a thousand stars.
He walked home gripping Dragon's Tooth at his side;
their existence gone.

Still night, calm night, night ever quiet, peaceful,
Be thou always here when the day is over;
Restful, silent, filled with the fallen dewdrops,
Gleaming in moonlight.
Still night, calm night, graced with a starry frescoe--
Virgin, Hunter, Pleiades, cross of sorrow--
Keep thy tales forever as softly fettered,
Gleaming in starlight.

Winter’s dusk forlorn on the moor has found me.
Sky has cried its tears; now I soak in stillness.
All at once, I hear in the gloaming - bird song
flooding the wasteland!

Holding Adonis
In another place and another lifetime,
gazing into eyes that gazed back with passion.
Kissing you, loving you and how you touched me.
Summer’s moon watched us.
Are you in the world, my sweet lover? Are you?
Have you gone the way of the gods before you?
Blessed was I to hold you so closely. I was
holding Adonis.

Lady fair meandering verdant hillside
Tracing amber prints of a night that glimmers
With the vintage lace from a rosy springtime
Breathless her senses.

Crimson lips, lovers awaken with a kiss
Creamy white skinned Goddesses resting
In a time where Socrates lusted after Sappho's
Poetry and art.
The Grecian people worshiped her with
her beauty and exquisite prose. On the wings
of her art she played enchanting music arranged
for immortality.
Golden chariots in fields of apples bold,
yet, solitary like one fallen from the tree,
Sappho wrote her memoirs and music
while exiled, her death unspoken.
