Young Hearts
The air is dense with words unspoken,
in solitude their hearts are broken,
though just one word, one simple token,
may have kept their vows unbroken.
Young hearts so heavy, turned to stone,
with muffled crying, smothered moans,
there's darkness where the sun once shone,
they find themselves alone, alone.
Lie down to sleep, pray not to wake,
each thought just brings intense heartache,
who knew there was so much at stake?
Now all that's left is their heartbreak.
