You&I

It's you and I coming as one Driven through the wild Cuz we were meant for each other, Made together, one for the other You and I We moved away, far away To a place of cold still waters And the beauty of it all was my strength Got engaged and eternity went by When reality stormed open You presented me a loin-sack cloth Packed and fiddled with blood crying stains You and I drove out to the world In search of bread to make 'Femi and Ope' cry no more Built for them a strong and bright future As time grew and seasons past I kept you strong with my strength And we aged swiftly together Watching our offspring grow Moments of pleasantries Moments of tears Moments of us too weak to hold on None of this I ever regretted Cuz you were by my side Slowly we grew frail and weak And the crown of our ages reflect We sat under the shade And talked deep into our past With our children's children You and I.
