Yesterday's Hero

Yesterday's hero: Soon forgotten under the fog of human error I stand to gain nothing. But behind the naked eye my treasures are endless. My gain is limitless. Yet my future actions reflect nothing more than a selfless act.. Sometimes being selfless holds little reward. There are often little hope that a smile will land your way. So how can one like myself be lucky enough to gain what is endless? Simple. You simply reach for the impossible and everything falls into place... Your scars may be many. Your heart may be held together with duck tape. And your tears may end up becoming all dried out. But that star shall surely drop into your hands... And you will know what it feels like to be happy. Sometimes people ask me if this is something I know for sure and I always tell them no. Then they simply walk away believing I'm completely nuts. Maybe I am... In truth my mental health has always been a concern... But my dreams are often more beautiful than many expect... I'm more than simple pages.. I'm more than simple notes written on paper.. My soul screams out to be noticed.. Don't drown me in a sea of endless pills and doctors nodding in despair. I'm more than that. Can't you see me? -Robert Burton.
