Yearning for a Taste

As a child I hovered near the oven as turkey aroma spread through our home. Mom knew by a craving I was driven, and from this spot her youngest would not roam. Mom giggled heartily; she knew the drill. Liver was nearly done, brother still in bed. A battle brewed with hunger pangs to kill, so Mom ensured the liver I was fed.

Carolyn, The liver would not have been a pleasant food for me even though I do eat it.I am glad that you chose this one for your theme..You got a special treat by being up early and there when mother got the food ready..Thanks for participating in my contest..Sara

This is very cute, enjoyed your memories, mothers used to love to feed us liver back then, if you rinse it in milk first then dip it in olive oil and then dip it in a mixture of breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese and bake, it makes a nice liver shnizzel. Yum! Luv vie
