Winds Are Blowing
The winds are blowing
blowing briskly in my ear
Thoughts of starting over
somewhere far from here
though this pains my heart...
is it something I should do?
Could this be why my feet itch?
is it now the time to move?
Just for once ... I’d like to stay in place
to finish something and see it through
rather than hear of another race
one that will be started and then left behind
just once Lord, can I reach the end
and cross the finish line?
Motivate, stir things up and then move on
Is that all I am good for, I surely hope not
I long to be a part of a mission that sees its results
to be able to laugh and hold those close that we have touched
It just seems that I am the one
that is here for just a time
to stir things up, and bring new thoughts
then quietly move along
Please Lord, find me a home
where I can stay to finish out my days
A place where I can plant my roots
and a garden too to grow
Let me watch as others watch babes grow
and share in their gladness and woes
for to me this is a richness of heaven on earth
that only You can show
