Why

Why?

A part of my soul is gone
dead, lying in a sea of doom

When he took his own that day
he also took a part of mine

So, I searched on how to tie a knot
for if he was gone so was I

But, leaving this earth and others behind
was not the solution of mine

Yet, I sit here day after day
night after night

Wondering what I could have done,
could I have made a difference?

But, realizing I was not the solution
I was the answer to the question....

Why?

A sad, moving poem. I understand how you feel. No matter what we think or how we feel, we are not responsible for the choices that others make. Please take care. Be gentle with yourself. Hold on to the good memories. Blessings, love and light. :-)

I am so sorry for your loss. It has got to be the most painful experience for a parent. Your last couplet says it all - you are not the problem nor the solution.
