When the Mind Slips Inside
When the mind is turned outward; it craves
For the objects and things, it perches upon
And desires for their unceasing enjoyment
Yet forever remains crazy and unsatisfied.
Strangely, the more it possesses, it wants
Still more and strives for, to attain more
To pacify its increasing appetite for more
The craving grows with no end in sight.
It knows well the fleeting nature of things
Since they come and go and hence shifty
Never provide it with permanent succour
And yet cravings for them never ever cease.
Train the mind to turn inwards resolutely
The same vacillating mind shall harness
All the powers to attain a positive thinking
That leads to simplicity bereft of craving.
Hence know for certain that a mind when
Slips outside in the sensory world, it falls
And when with perseverance indefatigable
It slips inside; it rises to a new awakening.
