When Sadness Breaks
When sadness breaks,
it drives deep into the core,
a sharp needle threading
around the seams, forcing
them to submit to its will.
An unwelcome intruder
causing nothing but pain,
it pierces, bites and darkens,
making its victim seemingly
helpless to its raw power.
Yet the beast is so overrated,
uninvited but not fearsome!
for it only makes you whole,
toughened around the seams,
one and joined with your soul.
In the end it bows going away
defeated, unable to hold sway
like dark clouds on gloomy day
surrendering to the brightness
of sunshine peeking through.
