What Noise This
WHAT NOISE THIS
hard to tell just when
one is suddenly aware –
electricity? –
no! i lay in bed listening
with my window wide open
early September
it’s been quiet all summer
not too hot, too chill
a cool breeze once in a while
with cricket’s ceaseless chirping
