What Happened To Me

Through the eyes of a child there was no strife; just fun and games and a healthy life; There were no enemies or wars to fight, Through the eyes of a child. Through the ears of a child heard the noise; of laughter and giggling of the girls and boys; and I listened intently to the old ones words. Through the ears of a child. Through the lips of a child I spoke the old ones words, and made many enemies of those who heard; Though I was just repeating what I had heard, Through the lips of a child. Soon I became a man through the old ones words, and life for me became more absurd. There is no more laughing or games to play, for now I am the old one teaching the young, old ways.
