Unveiled

That girl has had it rough. The glow fading from her face like a dimming light. Going through treatments, she’s been tough, each day putting on her gloves to fight. A diamond in the rough… A boy that takes a stand, letting the silent voices sing. Giving those stuck in sand a chance to find their wings. A diamond in the rough… Through trying times there you are. You don’t buckle or run to hide. In difficult situations, you are not far. Wanting to win, a victory by your side. A true diamond in the rough.

Super poem Shannon, there is always going to be winners and losers, it's how each handle their situations, with grace and respect i hope. If a lawyer wins a case, another must have lost, etc etc etc. Win and lost are only words>>James

I love the message and especially what I imagine is universal application, unless you're talking about a specific boy or girl you know. Otherwise the only element I ponder is what you mean by 'winning'; sure everyone wants to win but everyone also has a unique interpretation of what it means to win. This is where I get lost a bit, what makes one proclaim himself or herself victorious?
