Unspoken Dream

She is out of breath So am I As I hold her hand We pass under the street lamp of desire She falls as I catch her against my shoulder I whisper, you are safe with me She asks in wonder, what do you see? And I reply, I see my heart inside of you She smiles, for she knew my words before I spoke She holds my hand and says, are you real? I reply, no, I am not, yet I am here Let us not be real, let us simply be close So that I may tell you How unreal I am And how true is my love
