Unlocking

His unwarranted scorn Violated sacred visions, My humanity suffering Beneath melting words That threatened to silence My voice, Yet I refused to drink His power. Volcanic tremors shook off The invading slime of denial Long enough to let The light of truth back in. Where once there is opportunity Presented in the eyes of ignorance, I will not tremble from fear. I will take that mountain. Let it be known to all What a warrior does When an attack has been fronted. Let all the people see What it means To stand for something Bigger than any of us. I will not back down. Now is the time When forces will be reckoned with. Watch as I take on The personification Of one who hears The bells tolling, Unafraid to announce The proclamation. Who can say What fears address the Inhabitants of society? Who can know the danger Of rebelling against common thought, Choosing to seek understanding Outside imagined boundaries, And discovering a much better world? Still, I walk beside The murky waters Of our consequences, Firmly intuitive, And completely aware. The challenge isn't unlocking minds Already open.
