Inspired by the quote:
If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then, animals are better off than humans . . . James Herriot
I have had many friends in this journey called life, But in time each has failed me deeply somehow; And left me wondering, weeping and utterly broken, Humans sadly have within the ability to hurt. Amazingly my pets have always been there for me, No matter my mood they are full of deep love; Animals have a soul for sure that shines like a bright star, Even in death we hold them in our hearts. Their love, loyalty and gratitude is a heavenly gift, If one is lucky enough to have a pet in their life; They will surely know what unconditional love is all about, Because the Lord above made them all. __________________________ December 3, 2013 Poetry/Verse/Unconditional Love Copyright Protected, ID 11-524-088-03 All Rights Reserved, 2013, Constance La France Submitted to the Standard contest, Any Old Poem #7, sponsor, Skat, Judged 2013 Fifth Place
