Two Entwined

Regret drips slowly
down the terraced walls, it never falls.
A thick green moss forms in the shadows,
a smothering caul.

~He was a friend to all.~

Forevers were sworn,
all that's left are yesterdays, long gone.
What will tomorrow bring, will it be
the joy for which we long?

~Daughter, Wife, Mother, Mine.~

A blanket shelters
naked, tearful, truths, and pain we'll not see
like the moss it cloaks regret in dark
cloaking you and me.

~Two truthful souls lie here.~

The ending's so near
But still we try - and still we cry on
for little do we know how close it is,
how far, how near, gone.
