Twin Snowflakes

Twin snowflakes don’t exist. That’s what some people say. None is like another. They’re just not made that way. But when I think about it And I watch them as they fall I’m convinced the one who made them Knows more about it all. I feel that somewhere out there Is a mate for everything. So why should tiny crystals Be so perplexing? Should I become so famous And prove these people wrong, Would my reward be half as pleasing As if I wrote a song? Written by John Posey 03/23/13

It is a little early to be reading poems about snow, but here in Wisconsin it feels cold enough to snow today! I loved this poem, Jake, it does make one wonder if their really is a match for everything. Very inspiring and thought provoking work!...You might enjoy one of my new poems, which is titled, "Frozen Raindrops".

I think I detect a slight note of anger in this one, could be wrong though. Scientists a lot of times like to build themselves up by discovering something completely new, or thinking something is fact when it's not. I think the last verse sums it up nicely. There's much more joy in just living your life than trying so hard to know THAT much more than somebody else. Enjoyed this one immensely.

Well said. No anger was meant, though it can well be taken that way. This was written after thinking about the odds of putting twelve chimps in a room with typewriters and having one come up with the pledge of allegiance. It was a fun thing. Goes to show you can never really know what inspires poetry.. Thanks for your comments...

John, this is very pleasing. There is definitely an unknown "section" of life. It is like a Pizza with a mysterious and wonderful topping we will never taste. I am sorry to be so crude--you are so much more elegant. It is nice to see.

With all the snow (during Global warming) I can imagine a few twin flakes... But I think we need a song today... Being cooped up with 9 inches of snow. Fed the birds on the step next to the window so they could have a little... The 2 cats have bonked their heads on the glass a few times... Poor little dumb cats. It's a window with glass... But do they understand? ... NOOO!... LOL... They'll survive... so will the birds.
