Twilight
Twilight
The gray masked skies darken
shadow my path
on my long walk home,
and everything’s a memory
the summer gold
gentle warm wind
the promise of more.
Night falls all around me
in silence with no regret
the taking of radiance
the dead chill that permeates my thoughts
to bear another long night
and to bear in silent witness
life passing all around me
while I ease myself into sleep
in the light of dreams.
