Touched By An Angel

When despair held me in torment And the road of life was spent My every breath a fear Amid dark puddles of tear I never saw her dainty wings Never heard them swing When tragedy struck and the day was dim The eclipsed sun had nothing in him Grieving love long past A name on the tomb so fast I never saw her dainty wings Never heard them swing A shaken faith, no good reason Aimless life season after season A sublime love I felt near A sparkling voice that grew higher Drawing me from the depths of despair Into fragrant, soft air I never saw her dainty wings Never heard them swing And when the day was clear A light heart past fear She slowly let her wings flutter And all that was left was some glitter 19/3/2012 By Tahera Mannan
