Time of Year
standing all alone, dreaming of my life
wishing my father
was here beside my side,
we could have had a drink,
just to bring in new year,
but my fathers has past over
and he is not here,
guess a will have a drink for him
where ever he may be,
i know he is not that far
as still feel him beside me,
thinking of all the times
we use to sit and laugh
even when he screamed at me shouting
davy get in your bath,
wonder what he is doing,
in the youndering sky,
is he looking down on me,
with a twinkle in his eye,
how much a miss my dad,
but know soon to meet,
a hope he is the one waiting with open arms to greet,
will have a drink for you as your not around,
it was the body only of yours that they put in the ground,
many years have came and gone but always think of you,
more so at this time of year when god came calling on you,
i hope you hear my mind, and what a do think,
so a lift my glass to you my dad
and say let the new year begin,
my mind is starting to wander, as its getting late
thinking your waiting there, standing at heavens gate,
bringing in the party, as you loved to do.,
god dont know what he let himself in for, as your the party animal above,
but i know what ever you do it will be blessed with love.
will say good night as a raise my glass,
this is for the best dad i had,
happy new year where ever you may be,
as i know you will look out me,
