Thy Neighbor

Lord you say love thy neighbor as thyself As we come to you for true wealth Not storing up our treasures on earth But coming to you to receive new birth Treating all as we would like them to treat us Showing love even when they fuss We put all faith and trust in you The one holy and true As you come and comfort our souls Giving understanding and filling holes We lift the cross on our back And follow not returning or showing lack Putting you above all first As your provide water to quench our thirst Lord while all where tumbling down the mountain You came and provided a fountain Cutting down the trees and clearing a path Marking the trail to escape the wrath We come to you To receive new thoughts and desires As you give us new life So we shall escape death Some laugh and think this is a game While others might see it as shame But Lord I hear you calling thy name
