Thoughts Held Captive

Thoughts Held Captive

They tell us what to think
Teaching us what they want us to know
Continuous repetition of their ideas
Lies are their truths
Their truths are made to sound like lies
Billions of people with their only thoughts
Never thinking on their own
They have no idea who we are
Yet they have influence over our lives
You must do only as they say
Talk about things they do not find offensive
Think only their thoughts
They say we should never ask questions
Accept everything they say
If one person rebelled
If only one question was asked
They would fail to control us
Their power would fade into the dust
But billions of people would feel freedom
For once in their lives they could think
They would become human

This poem is so true Rob, the non comments on your Wall on a subject you wrote on is proof of this! So here is this little puppy dog, giving you the tick of approval for she knows besides you being the Poet of Poets that you are a very good man and so she stares up at you wagging her tail willing to overcome fear and become human! (By the way what happened to the little puppy dogs did I get the chop?!!!) X Elizabeth
