This Is My Pain
Your secrets will eat you,
And your lies will become shame,
This is my pain.
If you try to hide who you are,
And cover yourself,
You are only hurting yourself,
This is my pain.
When your eyes turn a different shade,
I feel your soul,
It says many things,
This is my pain.
The sound of your heart breaking,
Tears me down,
Our joy is locked away,
This is my pain.
Whispering through tears,
I wish you would change with me,
Our happiness can be so cruel,
Where is my empathy,
Maybe your hate will let me know.
You hurt what couldn’t fight back,
Damaged what wasn’t old enough to know,
Can a monster ever really love?
Is it sick that I hope so?
Why is guilt transferred to the innocent,
Who’s to judge what is and is not a sin?
Who am I?
Where am I going?
Where have I been?
Questions that God will not answer for me,
This is my pain.
