Thirst For Roses

Thirst for Roses

A woman in rags with intelligent looks Rusticity seen all over looking for a job. The village sky was too small She wanted to soar high in a city sky. Lived in ten by ten room With her husband & two children. When the life gave a good start, Her husband was attacked by paralysis Lying in broken bed, numb as a wound Her salty tears deforming the tiles. Life’s funeral procession is on its way, Make the way Somebody’s existence is being robbed Make the way Let he be in peace with the Almighty Make the way

Sad work...It reminds me of my now deceased sister-in-law whose father was taken with what doctors then called creeping paralysis..There were five children at that time and the mother had to care for the children so my sister-in-law age 14 went to work in the mill..The mill let them continue to live in the house..Life was hard back then..Thanks for stopping by..Sara
